painting - Private collection of K. Hemmingham. One of a couple of older works I decided to show here, since it uses some different techniques. The background is airbrushed in modern high-density dye-based inks, and the border rendered in gold with coloured ink shading. I like to think that, as a full-time artist, I might have time to start using Celtic interlace border work again, but we'll see ... The image of opening buds in Spring is an embodyment of the cycle of death and rebirth with which much of modern pagan spirituality is concerned. |
